Ross Baird, Founder, Village Capital
Ross developed the Village Capital concept in 2009, and has led the development of programs worldwide. Before launching Village Capital, he worked with First Light Ventures, a seed fund focused on impact investments. Prior to First Light, Ross worked on the development of four education-related start-up ventures: the Indian School Finance Company in Hyderabad, India, the National College Advising Corps in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and two ventures using technology to promote civic participation.

Andrew is the Director of Abaca and a co-creator of Village Capital’s VIRAL™ investment readiness framework. Andrew has worked with Village Capital for six years during which time he also recruited and trained entrepreneurs in investment readiness and financial modeling in Mexico, India, and the United States, led the firm’s Investment Analyst team globally, and built out Village Capital's communications infrastructure.
Prior to Village Capital, Andrew worked at the Indian School Finance Company in Hyderabad, India to build their first credit-scoring algorithm and portfolio delinquency monitoring tools.
Andrew holds a Master of Management Studies from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, a Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, and a Bachelor of Arts from Bennington College.

Before that, Peter was Vice President of Product Development and Deployment at Gannett Digital with responsibility for building, rolling out and marketing new digital products. Peter led the deployment of digital initiatives across 100+ local media properties, including design standards, content management, email marketing and web analytics platforms, and local-market integrations for CareerBuilder and Cars.com.
Before joining Gannett, he launched one of the first local news websites for The Lawrence Journal-World in Lawrence, Kan., also home to the University of Kansas, where he received a bachelor's degree in Journalism & Mass Communications.
