Biomass Group's vision is to be the World’s Leading Global Bio Energy company transforming rural communities. Shocasing our model in Sri Lanka, we develop the abundant biomass resources of Sri Lanka to supply deforestation free, sustainable, ethical, certified fuelwood for local industry. From 2022 we intend to export biomass pellets (replacement for coal) to Japan. We have draft terms from a major Japanese trading house. Biomass Supplies employs 46 staff today of which 35 are Field Officers. We have registered 40,000 smallholder farmers as outgrower suppliers, c.90% of our connections are with the women of the household. Next step is to put in place a Village Coordinator program that will give us last mile access to the village level ecosystem for both fuelwood and certain cash crops. These ladies will be paid on a commission basis, and can expect to earn a minimum LKR 25,000 per month by being a Biomass Supplies Village Coordinator. We aim to enroll 1000 Women Coordinators and be a conduit to market for 1000 villages in Sri Lanka. This is a Food + Fuel +Livelihood Development Program that will have transformational impact on the rural communities that partner with us..And deliver strong profits in the process.
