How is your business helping to solve the health, social, or economic challenges created by COVID19?
At CareTribe, our mission is to support family caregivers and their loved ones (e.g., parents, spouse, children with special needs) so they can manage current caregiving needs and be better prepared for future needs. Majority of caregivers are full or part time employees. With the COVID-19 outbreak, many families are facing challenges and feeling isolated with their caregiving duties and/or becoming first time caregivers. The pandemic also highlights the support that professional caregivers need for both their professional and personal caregiving duties. CareTribe helps build resilience in caregivers by helping them be better prepared – anticipating future needs, organizing essential documents, financial planning, finding local resources and focus on their well-being. By building resilience and confidence in caregivers and providing them expert and community support, they are less likely to suffer physical and emotional strain and burn out that so many caregivers experience. CareTribe also supports those that are acutely impacted by COVID-19 - they need support when a loved one is sick, know what benefits and resources are available to them and in some cases plan for end of life. Without this support, caregivers would have a difficult time managing their work and caregiving commitments leading to absenteeism, lost productivity and in some cases, having to leave the workforce – this has a significant cost to employers and the economy (~32B annual cost prior to COVID-19).
