How is your business helping to solve the health, social, or economic challenges created by COVID19?
We are providing learning and revision materials via technology that is within the reach of at least 90% of African homes - a basic mobile phone with a connection to a telecommunications network. This means that the vast majority of learners in Africa who do not have access to the internet can continue to learn and revise via our platform and minimise disruption to their learning. They can also ask teachers specific questions through our platform and receive responses in under 5 minutes. We usually charge 3 US cents for this service but have partnered with with a leading telco to provide it for free for two months and are currently looking for additional partners to work with to extend the free period to all learners across the country in Kenya. Currently we have 1.25 million learners subscribed to our platform for free. They took 1.44m lessons on our platform in April and asked over 400k questions to teachers.
Does your business contribute most to recovery, response, or resilience?
