How is your business helping to solve the health, social, or economic challenges created by COVID19?
We were 4 months ahead of development and able to launch in partnership with Walmart in late March to support COVID-19. At the time, masks and medical supplies were making headlines, but there were also millions of people who were unable to work or shop for critical supplies. Fast forward 2 months, 1 in 4 Americans have filed for unemployment and it is likely another 20 million will become food insecure. These are the people and communities we are serving. The first few weeks it was soap and water, then diapers and batteries, now air mattresses and other essentials like school supplies. For example, New York City community schools are using our platform to provide students with hygiene, college, art, and mental health care packages. This month, we will also add services beginning with TaskRabbit who can provide things like prescription pickup, grocery delivery and in a normal environment home repairs. In the future, people will be able to access and subsidize other resources like Airbnb housing, mental health services and even healthcare bills. Lastly, we are also positioned to serve multiple events simultaneously as flood/tornado season continues and hurricane season begins.
