Health Support Initiatives (HSI) is a non-profit organization working in Uganda established on 15th December 2011. The vision of HSI is healthy and prosperous community able to meet their basic needs. HSI works to promote all-inclusive growth and wellbeing of individuals in underserved communities with a holistic approach to create positive social change and also address local development challenges. HSI together with other Partners implements interventions to improve livelihoods, promote resilience, equity, capacity building, health promotion, promote good hygiene and sanitation practices, promotion of quality educational opportunities, as well as address key development challenges among the most affected and vulnerable populations. HSI has four thematic areas in which it operates including health; Education; Water, sanitation and environment; and Livelihood support. HSI mainly focuses on addressing development and healthcare bottlenecks among the most vulnerable and underserved populations, promotion of youth and adolescent livelihoods, and support initiatives to improve access to health services in rural districts of Uganda. HSI is also well positioned to shape and inform health policies at local government, national and regional levels through research and advocacy, provision of technical support to improve health systems in Uganda.
