How is your business helping to solve the health, social, or economic challenges created by COVID19?
Smallholder farmers in West Africa are on average 55 years old, with a life expectance of 60 and many have pre-existing conditions. The vast majority of smallholders have little or no documented land rights. If the head of the household passes away, land my lie fallow due to conflict, families will lose their income and a generation of women may lose their chance of claiming their land rights as their land is passed on to a male relative. Meridia is actively mapping and thousands of farmers with view to provide documentation to those who need it to mitigate short term conflict and income disruption, as well as provide a broad data set for all other organisations supporting COVID related initiatives in Ghana and Ivory Coast.
