How is your business helping to solve the health, social, or economic challenges created by COVID19?
Health: To date, Nutri has distributed 250 masks and 500 bars of soap to small scale farmers in Busia County, Kenya. Social• Remote Working: For the past three months, all company staff have been working from home. Our usual weekly meetings are now being conducted via Zoom. • COVID-19 Education: We are committed to training local farmers on how to limit the spread of COVID-19 by adopting WHO best practices. Economic: Nutri recently received its export license and plans to supply fresh vegetables aggregated from its local farmers to regional markets starting from Mauritius. The company aims to export 20 tons a week from July to two major suppliers. Through this effort, Nutri hopes to generate more revenue to support the livelihoods of its farmers as well as maintain its own financial sustainability.

What strengths does your team bring? Include skills and personal experience with the problem.
•Ellen (CEO) graduated from the Africa Leadership University, Mauritius, with a bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Computer Science. Ellen has worked for companies such as Microsoft, ALU and EcoBank. Ellen has lived in Mauritius for the past four years.•Laetitia (COO) graduated from EARTH University, Costa Rica, with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. She has worked in various integrated and horticultural farms in different parts of the world including South Africa, Costa Rica, Peru and the USA.•Aldrin (CTO) has over 28 years' experience in ICT, 10 of which are in IT management in sensitive National installations including Statehouses of Kenya, Criminal Investigation Department, Kenya Airports Authority, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation and the Nairobi Security Exchange. He has a Masters in Business Administration from Maastricht School of Management, is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and a Certified Ethical Hacker. He is a mentor and supervisor in a Post-Masters Fellowship program of the Nairobi University and the University of Washington and a part-time lecturer of Management and Information Security at a master's level. •Gideon (Senior Agronomist) has been in horticulture for over 17 years and is a Master Trainer in the KS 1758 standard for part 1 flowers and ornamentals Standard as well as part 2 for fruits and vegetables.
