How is your business helping to solve the health, social, or economic challenges created by COVID19?
n an effort to support Somalia’s preparedness and response to COVID-19, OGOW EMR partnered with The Response Innovation to expand our digital learning center by disseminating messaging across other mediums of communication such twitter, radio, and the established health hotlines. An approach using public-private partnership and an agile and innovative approach to what is turning out to be a multi-agency approch (engagement and support from Save the Children, OXFAM, World Vision, BBC and George Washington University for this digital public health awareness campaign. The series is included in Somalia's COVID Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) Repository by the United Nations Office for Coordination and Humanitarian Affairs and Ministry of Health. OGOW EMR is well positioned to scale-up our solution as we have built partnerships across users and public, private and voluntary sectors. Our start-up has entered into a partnership with The Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development to support the FGS efforts towards achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Additionally, our e-learning center addressing COVID-19 has been endorsed and shared by Ministry of Health, and it can also be found in the official Repository of COVID-19 Resources under the joint coordination body between the MoH and the UN, the Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) taskforce.Our advisors include Somali academics from Oxford, London School of Tropical Medicine and Public Health Specialist from John Hopkins, Our innovation was a winner in The Bill and Melinda Gates and IDEO’s East Africa Empowering Caregivers in Innovation Challenge and received seed-funding and tailored mentorship due to our platforms deep understanding of end users, and our great potential to influence the vaccine ecosystem across East Africa, and around the world.
