Data is the "operating fuel" of the electronic systems that are helping us survive the pandemic. But there are challenges. There are no continuous improvement business metrics in data science; and little incentive to move away from viewing each SQL query as unique, because data doesn't have intrinsic value. This creates significant waste that cannot be cleaned away, with contacts advising that a majority of all data science analyses do not produce actionable value.Information (organized knowledge) has intrinsic cash value. Data (unorganized) is an intangible. It has none. It never did. Now it does. Now it becomes a profitably-usable real asset with Proxy Cash Value (PCV).
