Solar Aid Uganda Ltd/ Sunnymoney are last mile distributors of solar lights with a vision of reaching the under-served Ugandans that are living below the poverty line of a dollar per day in off-grid areas; our primary distribution model is through schools, creating awareness about the dangers of use of kerosene and about benefits of using clean solar lights that are affordable , with no health risks ; we would like to create more awareness about COVID-19 through our existing distribution model.

How is your business helping to solve the health, social, or economic challenges created by COVID19?
Our business creates awareness and sensitization about COVID-19.Since schools are well distributed in the country, we use primary school teachers first to ensure that the school children are kept safe by providing sanitizing facilities such as jerricans, wash basins and soap to schools; providing COVID literature for schools and communities. To date we are focusing more on mitigating the risk of spread.

Resilience - we're improving the broader infrastructure for responding to pandemic outbreaks.

We are the indigenous solar distributing company in Uganda. Because of our work, selling thousands of solar lights in one year, more players were attracted into the country .Our team is well experienced in training, customer care and after sales service.We maintain a database of all our customers and the company has a trained call centre that continuously reaches out to customers through messages and phone calls.The team has experience of over five years of selling solar lights to the under-served communities of the country.
