How is your business helping to solve the health, social, or economic challenges created by COVID19?
#Womenagainstcovid19#WomenAgainstCOVID is an online campaign, birthed with the aim of inspiring, uplifting, motivating, empowering and teaching women how to not just survive, but to thrive within these trying times. The campaign is a two-way approach. First, it will feature online campaigns, broadcast and Q&A sessions designed to teach women on how to take care of themselves, their households, keep up with work commitments and make good use of this time to grow spiritually and intellectually, despite the prevailing pressures. This segment will be geared towards ensuring that women are equipped with valuable knowledge they need to take care of themselves and their families within this period. Second, the campaign will involve an outreach targeted at 50 expectant and new mothers, women in low-income families and areas and will supply these women with essential materials that they might need but find it difficult to afford or reach within this period. .In the wake of the Corona virus pandemic, the world as we know it has changed and slowed down drastically. Offices and shops have closed down, and travels have trickled down to a minimal level. While the world’s best minds are working overtime to find a solution to this virus, we feel obligated to look beyond the current state of things, because when humanity moves ahead of this virus, and we will, many of us will need to hit the ground running.

Personal experience. My personal experience of having my day job income cut because of the lockdown. Watching women from the underserved communities around where I live beg for food on the streets for their children because their informal business is a threat to flattening the curve and no structures in place for them to fully understand the nature of the virus, how it’s spread and how to practice social distancing. Our government has failed its citizens so we the citizens must rise up and help each other fight against covid19. The pandemic has exposed the inequalities in our social-economic activities. I am inspired to be a systems change leader and put aside my own afflictions to help flatten the curve, spread positivity and raise relief funds for women in my community.
