How is your business helping to solve the health, social, or economic challenges created by COVID19?
Over our diagnostic platform, we built two tests to diagnose the COVID-19 infection, one capable of detecting antibodies in blood samples and the other one capable of detecting the virus in the blood sample. With this, our platform is capable of detecting if someone has the virus or an immune reaction with antibodies or if it is free from the disease. This test was developed to be used as a screening test for patients suspected of being infected as a triage step for confirmation diagnostic, to asses patient immunity or to help organizations to monitor potential symptomatic or asymptomatic infection cases and reduce risks for their operations in the "exit strategy" from the pandemic
Does your business contribute most to recovery, response, or resilience?
Resilience - we're improving the broader infrastructure for responding to pandemic outbreaks.,Response - we're responding directly to issues caused or exacerbated by the COVID-19 outbreak.
What is the stage of your product development?
I have a market ready product/service. I have sold to customers.
What strengths does your team bring? Include skills and personal experience with the problem.
We are a second time founder team. In our previous startup we developed another health technology to increase vaccination efficiency in animal health, which was launched in 14 countries in partnership with the largest animal health pharma company in the world. Therefore we have experience bringing a biotech product from the lab to the global market. In Unima we have been working in diagnostics for other different diseases like Tuberculosis, HIV, Dengue, Zika, Diabetes and animal Health diseases, therefore our team has a deep understanding of disease dynamics and population level diagnostics.
